Need to search for and request a book not currently owned by EKU Libraries? Using WorldCat Discovery is a great way to do just that!

Start at the WorldCat Discovery link on the EKU Libraries homepage to open WorldCat Discovery.

Library homepage with arrow pointing to the link for WorldCat Discovery

Search for the title of the book.

WorldCat Discovery Search screen with the title The Sweetness of Water typed into the search box

Tip! Results are automatically sorted based on our library holdings. If you're having issues finding a record for a non-owned book, try adjusting the "Sort" field  from "Library" to "Best Match"

Note that the Sort by now shows Best Match. Locate the correct book and simply click on the title of the book.

Once in the book record, click on the Request It button located on the far right side of the screen.

You'll then be taken to your My Checkouts portal where you will complete and submit the request for books not currently owned by EKU Libraries.

EKU Libraries welcomes purchase suggestions from current EKU faculty, staff, and students. Requests for items we do not own will be reviewed. EKU Libraries will prioritize the purchase of books in eBook format that support the curricula. Patrons are encouraged to use their local public library for popular and fiction reading needs.

The below screen cast reviews this process and goes into more detail on using the Request It button.
