Course-related classroom use is allowed. Instructors may show videos, streaming or DVD, in classes as part of regular teaching activities. Public Performance Rights (PPR) are not required for this type of educational use.
For events, group showings, or any screening outside routine classroom instruction, the video must include the appropriate Public Performance Rights (PPR).
Our Streaming Video Guide explains how to locate videos that already include PPR and outlines PPR policies for the streaming platforms EKU Libraries subscribes to. The library can help you identify whether PPR are available for a specific video and guide you to sources that provide PPR. However, the library cannot purchase PPR licenses on your behalf.
If you have questions or need assistance finding PPR, please reach out to your library liaison.
